80s Day 9/25
80s day was a HUGE challenge because aside from only a total of 15 people in the whole school I was struggling and still am, with school and keeping grades too priority. This was also the first day I made a major mistake, because instead of formatting the card I used last I formatted the one that had the small amount of 80s day pictures I had. But I have learned from it and I know it won't happen again. I'm just fortunate that it wasn't a major event.

Nerd day/ blue bell 9/23
Yesterday all of the juniors were assigned to shoot nerd day as well as the blue bell ice cream donation in honor of Mrs. Washington. This was difficult in my opinion because you had two things going on at the same time that didn't mesh well. Trying to get good images of nerds eating Ice cream isn't too flattering. Spirit days have become more and more challenging simply because no one participates. I hope the images I did get can be usable images to anyone who needs them.

Camo Day 9/17
Today I was assigned to shoot camo day, and I actually really enjoyed it! Getting good images wasn't as difficult as other spirit days have been. I liked all the different outfits people wore that actually showed they put forth effort into it. Sometimes the images were underexposed due to the hallway lighting and dark clothes but I was able to correct it with a few changes to the ISO and shutter speed. I hope people will have as much spirit with other spirit days as they did today!
Head Shots 9/3
ISO:400
F/2.2
SS: 1/2000
Today i learned how to take an accurate head shot. When i first started taking the pictures it seemed really hard but after learning the different effects shadows can have on your photo and where the light should fall it got easier. I learned when taking head shots the persons head in the photo should take up a good amount of your picture, and not to shoot directly in front of the background. I also learned the different poses that are appropriate for male and females. For example, Men should always be faced towards the light so that they have a more masculine appearance as for Women should be faced away from the light so that their shape is more defined and visible to the viewer. Background was one of my main issues because of the lighting outside. Your background must be at least six feet behind your subject and bright or dark. Also, i couldn't seem to get my focus down but after i was taught that you could move your focal point, the image became more clear to me. I don't feel extremely confident but i feel that if i practice more i could produce decent images.
Mock Assignment 8/29
Inspiration 9/11
Today's assignment was to find a picture of an upcoming event that inspired us. I chose a picture of a young lady at homecoming. This picture inspired me because I see the surprise and the shock on her face as well as the people in the background. I'm really looking forward to shooting homecoming mostly because for a lot of girls it's a very important time in their life and I get to capture all the different emotions they may have.
Basics 9/5
Today i have learned the "basic" photography techniques which were anything but basic to me. At first i was terrified, and felt so lost and confused but after hearing the reassuring words "you will all suck at this unless you continue to practice" i felt some sort of relief. Realistically i learned how to put a camera together in under 15 seconds as well as the meaning of ISO, Aperture, and Shutter speed. Once we broke down the connection between the three everything started to clear up and i actually understood what i was being asked to do. Your ISO is determined by your surrounding settings, for example, inside your ISO should be at least 800, and outside your ISO should be around 100 to 200. Your aperture is determined by your depth of field or how many people are in your shot. Shutter speed is really the only thing you have to determine. You must align the small line inside the camera with the "home plate"in order to have an accurate picture. Im very eager to learn more tomorrow so that i can better my skills.

Texas vs Arkansas 8/27
Friday September, 6 I was assigned to shoot the Texas High vs Arkansas game. This was very nerve racking! My expectations were exceeded many times but that's what made this a good challenge. Although, I felt prepared bad lighting and a dead crowd taught me differently. I enjoyed the game and I also enjoyed the expirience that came with it. I may not have done everything right but for my first game I feel I gave it my best. I look forward to the upcoming game, and hope to get a position that aids my desire to produce real, story telling images.
Patriot Day 9/5
Patriot Day
Today I shot patriot day. I really love the spirit days but id have to say this was probably my favorite! Although, not a lot of people participated it was a defiantly learning experience. With so little people dressed up I had to make every shot count of the ones that were. Also with a camera being so close they just couldn't resist looking into the lense which made getting a usable image more difficult than it needed to be. In the end I'm glad that I shot this day and look forward to more spirt day challenges!
