DNA Lab Mrs. Powell

ISO: 1000
APP: 3.0
SS: 160
I was assigned to go shoot a lab being done in Mrs. Powells class room where the students would do a number of steps and at the end they would get to see their DNA and get to keep it for themselves...
Aside from the gross spitting and slobbering caused by immature freshman I enjoyed shooting because I got to get a variety of angles all with different steps happening. I made sure that I shot diversity as well. With the class room being dark i had to raise my ISO past 800 and i kept my APP lower so i could get more light that way as well.

Katelyn Spread

ISO: 800
APP: 3.5
SS: 200

Friday morning I was assigned to take pictures of Katelyn Markham and my first attempt at these pictures were horrible and disappointing. I had to retake them monday morning. I ended up with better pictures because I wasn't being lazy and I was paying attention. I sort of got to learn how to place pictures on a spread but I'm sure if I tried to do it alone then I would need help. These new pictures in my opinion could have a shot at being in the yearbook because they were properly exposed the second time I took them. This was probably my worst work recently because of the lack of effort.

Emily Pictures

ISO: 1200
APP: 3.0
SS: 200
Friday I was assigned to shoot pictures of Emily for a spread in the year book. I really enjoyed shooting this because I got to see the way that Emily interacted with people. I had always seen her in the hallway with someone assisting her but I had never seen her light up the way she did when she saw my camera and realized that she was the one I was taking pictures of. I think these photos deserve a spot in the yearbook because they were properly exposed and are story telling images.

Spooky

ISO: 1250
APP: 3.5
SS: 13

I shot this picture for the "spooky" picture on the photo challenge. I really liked this photo because the light coming in from behind the tree was just a regular street light but it was orange so it gave it more of a spooky effect, also the tree is black looking with drooping limbs which enhances the "spooky" look as well. I think this could be used in my photo challenge because it is original and creative in my opinion. While i was shooting this i learned that in order to get the back light i wanted the shudder speed had to be lower than usual. The higher my SS was the less black the tree looked and the less orange the light was.
