Key Club

ISO: 800
APP: 2.8
SS: 100
I volunteered to shoot key club and once again the meeting was short, and when i say short i mean like five- ten minutes max. It was only held to see who all wanted to attend eighth grade orientation. They weren't doing anything so I just took what i could while I could.

Newspaper Class

ISO: 1000
APP: 2.8
SS: 60

I volunteered to take pictures of newspaper at work, and these were actually really easy to get because they were actually doing work on the computers. Although, they were supposed to be having a meeting they didn't so I just got a bunch of them working on spreads and looking for photos. Since the room was dark I put my ISO high and my APP a little lower.

Art Class

ISO: 640
APP: 2.8
SS: 60

I was assigned to take pictures of the art in the art hallway but since there was no art in the art hallway I just took pictures of the only art class room doing "work." The room was super bright so I had to keep turning my ISO down because it was set to 1000 from when I was taking pictures of newspaper in potters. Also, it was pretty hard to get the persons art in focus as well as them, but I played with my settings and managed. They weren't doing any thing at all and even the teacher said so, so I only got what I could and had to stage most of it.

Casper Photos

ISO: 1000
APP: 2.8
SS: 50
I was assigned to take pictures of the foreign exchange student, Casper, working out or exercising. This was extremely awkward. I shot in the upstairs workout room of the multi purpose and the lighting was very dim. I got the best images I could, but most of them I couldn't use because of motion blur so took my shudder speed up and that seemed to help some. I hope there is never another assignment made that's this awkward..

Head shots

ISO: 800

APP: 3.0

SS: 100

I was assigned to take pictures of Takia Gowans and Tyra Childs. This was quite the experience. Taking the picture of Tyra wasn't  difficult, but taking the picture of Takia was challenging. Paige came along with me and showed me the book of schedules and helped me find theirs and go to the classrooms. When I went to take a picture of Takia all the teacher did was question why I needed a picture of her and be difficult. The lights were out and she wasn't in any mood to turn them on so I had to work with what I had. I got a few decent shots but Takia really wasn't doing what I asked either.

Spirit Stick

ISO: 1600
APP: 3.5
SS: 60
Me and Bailey were assigned to take pictures of DJ and holding the spirit stick and being excited. We shot this picture in the gym where potter waned it and the pictures didn't turn out bad. The only problem was the awful lights in the gym. We wanted to get different angles but when we got upward angles there was always lights in the back ground, other than that taking the pictures was fun and simple. I think I'm finally starting to get it.

Key Club

ISO: 640
APP: 4.5
SS: 80
I volunteered to shoot Key Club yesterday. They weren't doing much really, it was only a 20 min meeting. I took a flash and I ended up playing with my settings a lot because the room was really bright and so my pictures with the flash ended up almost over exposed. I played with my settings and got them to the best that I could. I managed to get as many photos of them doing something that I could as well but it was just a last minute meeting.

Yearbook Spreads

Paige's

Dutch's

Sydney's

Sabrina's

Paige' s

All photographers were required to show up to work night so when I showed up I didn't have much to do and Mrs. Potter told me I could help brainstorm pictures for my spread I was assigned to. I thought this was kinda cool because it allowed me to get creative with what photos would be nice on the spread. On two of them i had to find a way to make the two relate. That was a bit difficult because most of the pep rally pictures consist of cheerleaders cheering and crowd shots so I had to find some that were a bit different. Although there were only a small amount of pictures I thought were good After looking through some of the older pep rallies before moving to the more recent ones and I noticed how much we have improved as a whole from the first one to the last. I ended up choosing two of Paige's that would relate to each other, one of Sydney's, and one of Sabrina's with the alternative being Dutch's.

Drivers Ed

ISO: 640
APP: 2.8
SS: 125
I shot Drivers Ed yesterday and was expecting to get a lot of images where the students were interacting and the teacher was teaching but only about 1/4 of the class would allow me to take their picture. The teacher wasn't too keen on me taking pictures with her in them either. She didn't mind so much that I was there to take pictures she just wasn't letting me get the ones I really wanted by shying away so I worked with what I could. They weren't doing much anyways because they were reviewing for a quiz. This time I actually used a flash to shoot this assignment and it helped tremendously. It made my photos more clear and less grainy than before. Although, it did make my whites really white and over exposed. I kept my APP low because the classroom was poorly lit and I wasn't shooting more than 1 or 2 subjects most of the time.
