Creeper Project Idea

For my creeper project i would like to use the show Dexter as a guideline to follow.  In my picture i would like to have a person towards the front of the photo looking oblivious while a shadow of a hand with a latex looking glove and a needle is approaching their neck. I think it would be really cool if somehow i could make the shadow sharp enough to where i could get the needle being squeezed and show drops coming out. I want to use a garage as the setting but lighting is weird and I'm not familiar with how to work the off camera flashes well so i will have to practice a lot. I have some other ideas but I'm not quite sure on how the shadow of different weapons would turn out since real weapons tend to have a different shadow than their actual shapes.

Poverty Assignment

Paige, Faith, Sara, and myself all volunteered to take a Newspaper assignment on poverty where we find a less fortunate student and use their picture on the double truck page needed for a article about students at Texas High that do not have as much money as others and what that is like. We did not tell this girl that that's what we were using her picture for but because she was dressed quite relaxed and was in a class room that she could get out of, so we picked her. This picture was not used in the newspaper because we later found out that the persons face could not be showing in the photograph. Paige took the photo, we just assisted in the settings, location, and person.

Book Cover Idea

I would like to recreate the book cover of the book called How the Dead Live. I plan on using a styrofoam plate that looks realistic so that i can make all the cracks exact. This book cover will be pretty challenging because i will have to make a fake plate look that real and make all the cracks similar. I will probably buy a large orange poster board to use as the back ground. I'm actually really excited about this project because we get to make it our own while still having guidelines to follow by having to make it look like the book cover of our choice.

Class Creeper Project

ISO:
APP:
SS:
As a class were got to learn how to set up the off camera flash for the creeper project where you have a subject that is the "victim" in the picture and then how ever many "killers" you want and you have your victim in the front of the photo being scared or oblivious to the killers shadow in the background with a weapon of their choice that is coming towards the victim. like a scene from a horror movie. We got to go out and practice on our own so we went to the theatre and took some pictures in the creepy hallway but since we had just learned how to work the off camera flash we couldn't figure out the settings for the pitch black hallway so unfortunately none of the photos taken were usable and the photos we did have are on someones card that hasn't been uploaded to the drobo yet so they aren't available to put on here.

Spiderman Project

ISO:
APP:
SS:
This project was really cool, we got to take pictures of all our friends jumping off a wall posing like spiderman. It was also pretty challenging because you had to set up off camera flash which i learned how to do and then you also had to time it just right when you took the picture because you wanted to get them in mid air. This was my first time ever getting to use off camera flash and it helped to give me at least a basic understanding of how to operate them but i would like to learn more so that i can set them up on my own and know what I'm doing.

Water Drop

ISO: 160
APP: 4.5
SS: 160
We got to do the water drop project as a part of our "project a day" challenge i was informed about and it was a really cool learning experience. I learned how to focus things that you usually would have to time and how to set flashes on master and slave so that they would go off in sync with each other. I like my pictures and would love to just play around on this project more just to see what cool images I could produce.

Kireeve Headshot

ISO: 800
APP: 2.8
SS: 100
I was assigned to take a head shot of Mrs. Kireeve for the newspaper. This was an easy assignment because I have gotten head shots down pretty well. I think I did a pretty good job and it deserved to be used because the settings were right and the subject was in focus exactly as asked. Although, I wish I could have gotten Mrs. Kireeve to smile, or pose less awkwardly but after asking multiple times and retaking the photo, I decided that I would just have to work with what I was getting.

TOP entrees

I like my TOP entrees but i also know that i could do better and after seeing these it gives me motivation to produce better images for next year. Also i would like to shoot sports next year so that i have a variety of images and not just one category. I hope i win some awards with these but if not then that would just add to my motivtion.

Musem

ISO:
APP:
SS:
The Museum was really fun, i took a lot of pictures only thinking there was one floor so i cannot imagine how many i would have taken if i would have known that there were actually four. Getting good pictures wasn't really difficult in this setting because there were so many things on display and good photo journalism opportunities. The only thing that was a challenge was keeping your settings right in each room since the lighting changed in every one of them pretty drastically.

Artsy GCS pics

ISO: 800
SS: 10
APP: 13
I really liked these pictures because of the way they turned out. I drug my APP up really high and put my shutter speed really low which made the lights on the chandelier really stand out and extenuate the gold. This was also a learning experience because i took what i learned about creating silhouettes and applies it to artsy architect pictures.

Arch

ISO: 200
APP: 3.0
SS: 100
This was the extent of my architectural pictures. I didn't get many of them because i was so caught up in the moment and taking in the scenery. I wish i would have gotten more but most people had the same pictures so i don't feel like i missed out on a greatly unique image. I mostly enjoyed the learning experience i got with practicing architectural pictures for future reference.
